Baby Shower Poems
Baby Shower Poems – Express Yourself or Play a Game
Quote....A baby is an angel whose wings decrease as his legs increase.

Poems are often used as part of
the shower in one way or another.
There are some interesting
things you can do with them and many
places to find poems that can be used.
Baby shower invitations are one
source of baby shower poems.
You can find them on cards in retail
stores, but there are also plenty
of poems available on computer
programs for designing cards on your
home computer.
Of course, the more talented writers
will want to create their poems and
a baby shower gift poem on a handmade
card makes a great topper for a
handmade gift.
There are also many baby poems in the
Public Domain. (This means they no
longer have a copyright and are free
to use.) Here's a couple I think are
beautiful.
BABIES COME INTO THIS WORLD
Babies come into the world brand new
They have no preconceived notions of
bottles and you
Expecting love and giving it back,
These little Angels see nothing you lack.
They don't know when you're wondering if
what you're doing is right
Happiness comes from having you in sight.
Don't worry your skills are shaky and new
Your baby just wants you to be you.
Feedings and diapers and car seats won't last
The love that you show to your child says it best
Take care of this little gift from above
and everything is seen through her and your love.
BABIES DON'T KEEP
Mother, oh Mother,
come shake out your cloth,
empty the dustpan,
poison the moth,
hang out the washing
and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house
is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery,
blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little
Boy Blue (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done
and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing
will wait till tomorrow,
for Children grow up,
as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs.
Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep......

Sometimes, short baby shower poems
can be used as the theme for the
entire shower. You might use the
poem on the invitations and the
cake, and you might even produce
a keepsake book for the mom-to-be
using the poem on the cover.
If the poem is appropriate, you
could even embroider it on a sampler
as your gift.
Remember that baby shower poems don’t
have to be elaborate. Short and
catchy are traits more likely to be remembered and it doesn’t even have
to be especially poetic. You’ll get
lots of laughs with your baby shower
gift poem that indicates the contents
of the package by saying, “I bought
you a bonnet to make baby coo, and
I bought you some diapers for the
other end too!”
As you search for a baby shower
gift poem, keep in mind the
personality of the mom-to-be.
Is she more likely to be moved
by something soft and sentimental?
Or will humor be just what she needs?
The mom-to-be can also find some
creative uses for poetry.
Baby shower thank you poems will help express just how much the
thoughtfulness of the giver meant.
Writing your own baby shower poems
will allow you to make unique cards
to send as thank you notes.

Here is a cute baby shower thank you poem...
Thank you for coming,
Holding me dear,
Although I'm not born yet,
Nor made myself clear.
Know that I know what
Your gifts want to say,
Older than sunshine
Upon a new day.
